ARA – the packaging cycle
In Austria, ARA is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective collection, reuse and disposal or all packaging materials. Every year, ARA and all its partners in Austria can save 510,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Together with ARA (Altstoff Recycling Austria) , we take charge of the separate collection, recycling and disposal of packaging reusables inthe ARA system. Together with ARA, Ölz der Meisterbäcker wants to raise awareness for ‘packaging’ as a resource.
We are making an active contribution to protecting the environment.
The collaboration between Ölz der Meisterbäcker and ARA (Altstoff Recycling Austria) carefully saves primary resources and energy carriers and prevents the emission of dangerous greenhouse gases. Our achievements in 2024:
- A saving of 2,268 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents.
- This corresponds to the greenhouse gas emissions from more than 25 million kilometres travelled by car
- or approx. 644 times around the Earth.
We are happy to take part in the ARA campaigns, as we support the goal of returning packaging to the cycle and want to raise awareness.
As much as necessary, as little as possible!
protection and hygiene of baked products is only possible with the right packaging. At Ölz, we completely avoid the use of composite materials, relying exclusively on monofilms in order to made an important contribution to the recyclability of packaging materials. The top priority for us at Ölz der Meisterbäcker with regard to the packaging materials we use: as little as possible, as much as necessary!
